To experience the synergy of all four elements through the ancient craft and see how it feels to mix water, earth, air and heat we run courses for beginners.
Our courses are designed as oasis of peace, and are adult only. For English speaking students everything is translated to English.
Classes run once a week, 3 school hours at a time.
The students will learn the basics of hand modelling using pinching, slabs and coiling, glazing and decorating. Finished items are stacked in the kiln by Laura, and after they are fired at temperatures of around 1000 degrees Celsius are ready for the students to take them home.
Complete course lasts 3 months (12 classes, 36 school hours in total). It is possible to pay for each month separately. The price for the complete course is reduced.
In the 1st month the emphasis are on hand modelling and building terracotta clay. Students make their own pieces and also learn about storing and drying clay.
In the 2nd month of the course, students are working and playing with white stoneware clay and more emphasis is given to decorating, embellishing, personalising clay through several different techniques.
In the 3rd month yet another type of clay is introduced and students also get a chance to glaze their own brand new ceramic pieces.
In the 3rd month students are taking home their finished pieces, fired twice, glazed and ready for everyday use.
Students attending all 12 weeks will personally experience all segments of ceramics’ creation process.
The price for the complete 12 week ceramics curse for the beginners (36 school hours in total) comes with the 10% discount and includes use of all materials, tools, glazes, special ceramics paints, oxides all firings and tuition. Paying each month separately is at the full price. At the end of the 12 week course a discovery potters wheel experience workshop for free.
